BRIT Awards 2012

The BRIT Awards began with a bang last night with Coldplay opening the show. Their performance started the night with a great atmosphere. But of course what we really want to talk about is what everyone was wearing and the BRIT hairstyles that we saw last night.

Rihanna last night had three looks to pull off. Of course they both looked absolutely amazing. With an up do to go with her low cut dress and swapping the up do for a blonde afro when performing ‘We Found Love’.  After this she slipped in to a bright green dress and sunglasses to celebrate her BRIT Awards. Pictured is Rihanna straight after the awards showing off her BRIT, clothed in her performance outfit. Also pictured is Rihanna in her Neon green dress ready for the after party.

She thanked her fans in her speech for letting her be herself, saying ‘And at times when I feel misunderstood my fans always remind me that it’s OK to be myself and I will never forget you for that, so thank you.’

 

Another big winner of the night was Adele. She performed ‘Rolling in the Deep’ which received a standing ovation from the celebrity crowd. She won two awards,  ‘Best Female’ and the award of the night, ‘Best Album’. After having undergone throat surgery, Adele has lost a lot of weight. She looked glamorous in both of her black gowns, a lace after party dress and her studded floor length gown.

She wore iconic Adele hair which was big and bouffant, shaping her face. She had added curls to finish off the glamorous look.

Other Brit Awards winners were, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande, coldplay, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters and Lana Del Ray.

New Year, New You!

The new year is here. Is this the year of a new you? Dreading starting back at the gym? Eaten way too much chocolate? Lace fronts can feel exactly like your own hair, they can be parted and styled however you would like it to be.

Fly in Style with Pan Am Hair

Pan Am is the new series about Pan America World Airways and the glamorous air hostess’ in the 1960s. So, of course it’s time to break out the 60s hair!! This means, wigs and hairpieces time.

‘Set in New York in the 1960s, at the height of the Pan Am Airlines’ success, the lifestyles and many secrets of the pilots and flight attendants will be revealed.’

If you’re trying to re-create the Pan Am look then it is best to go for wigs. They make it so easy to create the look in minimal time. The flicked out look and the short bobs are great looks and can make a glamorous style.For a shoulder length flicked out look, this is the wig for you. It screams 60s glamour! Go for a dark brown or a ginger copper wig for the best 60s look.

A brunette bob is also the way to go when re-creating the Pan Am Glamour. The bob is the most popular in this series with a pixie cut follwing closely behind. Long hair was not hugely popular until the late 60s and if anyone did have long hair it would be back in a beehive style. If you’re going for the full 60s style, long dramatic false eyelashes are a must!

Winter Hat Envy…

It’s getting colder and darker and more wintery everyday.  This means even when we’re wearing a winter hair our hair still needs to look amazing! It’s fast approaching the time of parties, fireworks night and dare I say it…christmas! As it will soon be the party season, it’s time to break out the hair pieces, wig, hair extensions and styling tongs for the perfect hair. Here are some winter hat ideas for this cold season……

If you’re wearing a hat out this season, why not try big hair underneath. By putting a hat on you have no volume from the roots so the best thing to do is to put your hat on and style big curls around it which will add extra volume to the hair that can be seen. You can also add extra hair extensions for a fuller look. Or if you have shorter hair, try a fringe which will show under your winter hat for a cute pixie look. Or try Taylor Swift’s plaited hat hair which can even be done with short hair, using a clip in plait.

Or if you have short hair, go by Katie Holmes’ example by having a full fringe showing and little bits of hair showing out of the bottom of the hat. This is completely cute and looks great especially with dark hair and a cream coloured hat, or the other other way round with blonde hair and a dark hat. If you don’t have a fringe and you want one to show like Katie holmes’ then go for a clip in fringe which is easy to clip in and go.

For men, hats are easy. If you have hair like Ashton Kutcher, you can show some fringe with the hat just so it doesn’t look like you’re bald. If you don’t have much hair go for a beanie which can go quick far back on your head but still covers your ears for a manly look.

Hats can be a great fashion statement in winter and you can make them look great with just some styling tools! Look great for November 5th by following the hair tips above.

X Factor Uproar!!

After all the hype about Xfactor, it really has been a bit disappointing as there are only a few who can actually sing and the judges are eliminating people who actually have talent. Such as Amelia Lily, Jonjo (who was pretty bad that night, but it had to be the song choice) 2 Shoes (again the song choice) and James Michael. Below are some quotes from the X Factor Official Facebook Page:

One viewers comments about Amelia- “Omg kelly what are you thinking ?! Amelia had the best voice even better than misha I think ! And the best performance. Janet should have gone she’s sweet and all that but she’s not a pop star ! Totally put me of xfactor this year I didn’t like the twist at all they should have just let the public vote because we are the ones that have to listen to these so called new pop stars so let us vote !! Judges are just turning this into a circus example that Kitty and Johnny !! Its a joke.”

One Viewers comments about Michael- “Think it is outragous that Frankie was kept in over james as on the night and every other for that matter,James sung better! I thought gary would bring honesty to the xfactor and go on pure talent not the whole pop star look!As Gary of all people should know talent isnt about ” the boy band look” looking back to his early days! Really disappointed, obviously all a fix and i suspect they already have the winner picked out!”

JonJo eviction comments: “Kitty should have gone! She’s just an attention seeker, I seriously don’t like her! Jon jo should be through, not kitty. Louis has definitely made the wrong decision.”

The X Factor Makeovers are a bit over the top this year. Lots of people are talking about Frankie Corcozza’s hair! I personally think he looks like a mushroom and we want to know what you think about this. We obviously definately do not have a problem with Amelia’s pink tresses. Her hair looks amazing and completely suits her. Lets hope she keeps the pink hair even if she isn’t on the show anymore. Poor Amelia.

Halloween Costume Ideas

Got the perfect halloween costume but don’t know what to do with your hair. Or if you don’t have any ideas at all you have come to the right place. Check out the ideas below to help you decide what you want to be for halloween….

Here are some ideas that aren’t scary but great for costume parties on halloween. Why not try going as Kate middleton? She is easy to dress as, if you just go to a charity shop and find a womens suit then add a Kate Middleton Style wig. If you need something else to show you are Kate, these Will and Kate Masks are awesome! The best thing is you can get someone else to dress up as Prince William and go together.

Lady Gaga! Who would be better than Lady Gaga? She has so many costume opportunities it’s unreal….The meat dress, the egg, the blue leotard, Jo Calderone, the bubble dress just to name a few. Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous you could just go in your underwear and Gaga wig ( I don’t advise this though). There are so many wigs that are so iconic to Gaga, people will know who you have come as straight away. Such as the turquoise bob, the blonde wig and bow combination and the ‘Born this way’ grey and blue wig.

Fast becoming a wig icon is Nicki Minaj. Some of her iconic looks include the ‘Superbass’ wig which is the split pink and blonde, and the pink wig on her album cover which she has also worn in Blonde and Black. As for the costume, it is best to go for a crazy catsuit if you can get hold of one, and throw on colourful jewellery, nails and accessories for a unique Nicki look. She also loves leopard print stuff so add a bit of animal print to really stand out.

Get the Nicki Minaj Look!

By now we all know who Nicki Minaj is and it seems her hair and dress sense are getting crazier by the day. Not only is her rapping amazing and a bit outrageous but her whole image is completely ludicrous and we LOVE her for it.

It started with the black wig with the curled under fringe which wasn’t really in any way different but it did look great, her look completely changed however, after she started becoming more and more famous.

 

Then she moved on to the blonde wig which looked   amazing, adding the massive fake eyelashes for her celebrity look. Miss Minaj, along with Lady Gaga started making wigs more and more popular.

 

 

Her new album brought in the pink wig and started a pink hair craze which has been followed by Katie Perry, Dianna Agron, Lily Allen and Gwen Stefani. Love this wig with the thick blunt fringe!

 

The moving from this to her more noticeable styles such as her leopard print hair and revealing outfits to create more of an outrageous and eye-catching look. From the dip dye affect to the leopard print hair, everything she rocks looks creative and amazing! Thinking of trying out Nicki’s look then why not go all out with her split pink and blonde superbass wig?!

Girly Pink!

Hair transformation time from the stars…is pink the new red? Yep! Pink and punky candy colours are the new autumn/winter shade. Celebrities sporting the new trend are Katy Perry, Dianna Agron and Nicki Minaj. They look amazing and so many more pink wigs are now available for everyday use which makes it easier to keep up with changing trends.

Gaga has her own shades which are being rocked this autumn and winter. These are the turquoise blue which looks gorgeous with almost every skin tone. She has also sported the purple wash look which people have been trying out, it looks especially good on pixie cuts and really long straight hair. Check out these gorgeous shades by the celebs..

The Return of Towie

If you’re a fan of Towie then you would have seen the news that Lauren and Mark have split (again) and Amy has quit….and being replaced by Jodie Marsh?! So what is in store for us this autumn when it returns. If you haven’t seen the pictures from the new trailer click here.

Ok so Jodie Marsh is apparently not going to be in it, Amy will definitely not be back. It doesn’t look like Mark and Lauren will be getting married….so what is going to happen? Well as the auditions are under way for the newbies, we can only wait and see….exciting times my friends, exciting times.

It’s time to get ready for autumn….

Yes I know nobody wants to talk about summer ending, it means back to cold and rainy days :( Bad times. But fear not as it isn’t all bad. You can still achieve a gorgeous look without the summer sun!

Do not think you have to get rid of the bright blonde you’ve been sporting for the summer. Platinum blonde is completely on trend for Autumn so don’t be afraid to be daring with your colour…..it will really spice up those dull days.

There are so many new trends coming through in autumn, have a look at these:

The bob is always a winner when it comes to being     completely in fashion. A great touch to add to the bob is going a different colour. If you’re a natural blonde why not spice it up a bit with a nice copper tone running through your hair.

The bob can be worn either curled right under the chin or worn slightly longer depending on your face shape and preference.

 

The half up half down hair is perfect for a girly look. Traditionally used at weddings, this hair has so many possibilities. With the half up half down look you can add plaits and twists to add more girly-ness to the style.

Give your hair great volume with the half up half down look by creating lots more volume at the ends of the hair rather than the top.

As mentioned earlier Platinum hair suits almost every skin tone and can look great on anybody and why wouldn’t it, it looked amazing on some of the most influential celebs such as Marilyn Monroe (pictured), Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera.

 

The fringe! The fringe is always in fashion and it’s a great way for a change if you don’t want to cut all of your hair or you can always go for clip in fringe.

There are many fringes you can choose from to suit your style. A sweeped over to one side fringe, a blunt fringe as shown in the picture or a soft fringe to bring out your eyes. It isn’t easy to pick a style so be sure to ask a stylist for advice.
